This role is central to ensuring young people gain essential knowledge, confidence, and skills to make informed financial decisions. The educator works closely with partners, site staff, and the FLY team to deliver engaging and culturally responsive instruction.This is a part-time W-2 position with daytime availability requirements.  Candidates must have consistent weekday availability during school hours. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.Instruction & Curriculum DeliveryFacilitate financial literacy programming aligned to FLY's curriculum during the school day, after school, and in community-based settingsCustomize lessons to meet student needs while maintaining fidelity to learning objectivesEnsure inclusive and interactive classroom environments that support diverse learnersMaintain instructional consistency across daytime and after-school programming modelsClassroom & Site EngagementCollaborate with site personnel to support student participation and program logisticsCoordinate with school administrators and classroom teachers to integrate programming into the instructional dayMaintain classroom management and instructional pacing aligned to the program scheduleTrack attendance, participation, and student progressData & ReportingComplete session summaries and student engagement logsSupport pre/post assessments and share key learnings with the instructional teamProvide feedback for program improvement and curriculum developmentTeam CollaborationAttend instructional team meetings and contribute to professional learning sessionsShare best practices and participate in ongoing trainingOther Duties and Contractual DetailsSupport outreach activities, special events, or public workshops as neededParticipate in curriculum reviews, feedback sessions, or pilot testing of new materialsRepresent FLY at community events, partner meetings, or professional development sessionsAssist in mentoring new educators and onboarding volunteersContribute to cross-functional projects that support organizational prioritiesPerform other duties as assigned by the NY Team Lead & Program Coordinator or Executive LeadershipSchedule & AvailabilityPart-time hours aligned to FLY's academic-year calendar, September through JuneHours will vary week to week based on programming demands, site schedules, and the academic calendar. This position does not guarantee a minimum number of weekly hoursAnticipated range is approximately [XX] to [XX] hours per week during active programming periodsConsistent weekday availability during school hours is requiredSome after-school, evening, and weekend programming based on site schedulesSchedules are confirmed in advance with the NY Team Lead & Program CoordinatorSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Personal Finance Educator has no supervisory responsibilities.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Education/ExperienceBachelor's degree in Education, Finance, Youth Development, or a related field1-3 years of teaching, training, or youth facilitation experienceStrong content knowledge in personal finance or willingness to be trainedExperience in New York City schools or community-based organizations preferredLanguage SkillsEffective communication and interpersonal skills with youth and adultsAbility to adapt to diverse environments and learning needsBilingual capability preferred, particularly SpanishMathematical SkillsBasic financial literacy and numeracy skillsReasoning AbilityAbility to adapt curriculum to meet student needsStrong classroom management and problem-solving skillsComputer SkillsProficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft OfficeCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNone required.
