Job description

American Welding & Gas , has an immediate opening for a Class B CDL Delivery Driver in Springfield, MO. This position requires a Class B CDL with HazMat & Air Brakes endorsements.
*** This position requires you to travel overnight four days per week, Monday through Thursday. The company will cover all hotel accommodations and meals while you are traveling. ***
This position is responsible for loading, unloading, moving and storing of gas and liquid cylinders and other hard good supplies; making deliveries to customers or other branches and filling out delivery tickets completely and accurately.
Delivery Driver - Class B Duties:
  • Use company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner
  • Pick up returns at customer place of business
  • Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations
  • Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently
  • Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicle
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Class B CDL with HAZMAT & Airbrakes endorsement
  • Clean driving record 3+ years
  • Able to read and write English
  • Successful completion of DOT pre-employment drug-screen and physical, and company administered road test
  • Able to move compressed gas and and liquid cylinders
  • Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable using computers
  • Ability to communicate with customer
