Job description

Location: HO-CHUNK HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Department: Ho-Chunk Housing and Community Development Agency
Summary:
This position is with our partner business Ho-Chunk Housing and Community Development Agency
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Cultural Resource Manager the Culture Resource Coordinator will coordinate various cultural and garden activities for the Agency's communities. Attend and/or set up meetings after work hours when necessary and provide the information that is requested. Responsible for all aspects of the gardens: leading the design process, soil building, irrigation management, crop rotation, weeding, and harvesting and produce delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must possess high school diploma.
2. Must possess an understanding of the Ho-Chunk history and culture.
3. Must possess knowledge and experience with organic gardening and/or farming.
4. Must possess soil knowledge.
5. Knowledge of medicinal plants.
6. Knowledge in mechanical repair desired.
7. Current physical demands must be met in accordance with HHCDA Occupational Safety and Health Program Policy.
8. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
9. Creative problem-solving abilities.
10. Experience supervising volunteers promoting cooperation and team building preferred.
11. Diplomacy and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
12. Sensitivity to and understanding of the experience of people of limited incomes.
13. Working knowledge of Ho-Chunk government, departments and services.
14. Valid driver's license, and proper insurance and qualify to be insurable by the Agency's auto insurance carrier.
15. Preference will be provided to Native Americans.
