Job description

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the OPERATION DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
TEMPORARY PROMOTION, NOT TO EXCEED 1 YEAR MAY BECOME PERMANENT.Qualifications:FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience with understanding work sequences and operations in the construction, conversion and repair of ships systems.
  • Experience understanding Baseline Advanced Industrial Management/Project Scheduling and Sequencing processes (BAIM/PSS) and guidelines.
  • Experience utilizing arithmetic and practical mathematics such as algebra and geometry.
  • Experience resolving network logic errors and improper work durations.

FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience with updating and constructing various schedules, i.e. Key Event Schedules, Test Sequences, Critical Path Schedules, Job Summary/Boundary Sequences, Report Listings, Gantt Schedules and Bubble charts for work studies, game plans, and special work evolutions.
  • Experience reading blueprints, system diagrams, technical manuals and process instructions.
  • Experience utilizing arithmetic and practical mathematics such as algebra and geometry.
  • Experience setting up and operating peripheral equipment.
