Job description

At Houston Methodist, the Research Assistant II position is responsible for providing technical research support. Work could be performed in either a laboratory or office environment. Under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), this position assists scientists, both independently and collaboratively, with investigative procedures. The Research Assistant II position performs various assays, imaging experiments and other technical duties to assist with research activities and may be required to work with animal models and/or human subjects.
The Antibody Discovery and Accelerated Protein Therapeutics (ADAPT) lab is looking for a Research Assistant II to contribute to research discovering and developing therapeutics for infectious diseases. Our lab uses proteomics, artificial intelligence/machine learning-enabled protein engineering, and directed evolution to fuel the discovery and development of vaccine antigens, protective antibodies, and other protein therapeutic platforms.
This role will support vaccine development and antibody discovery through LC-MS/MS method development and application. It will contribute to advancing MS-based proteomics through hands-on operation of instrumentation, development and execution of analytical workflows, and close collaboration with cross-functional scientists across research teams.
