Job description

We are seeking Infusion Pump Certificate Update Technicians for a short-term, full-time onsite project supporting a multi-hospital healthcare system in South Florida.

The project will focus on updating network and security certificates across approximately 2,500 ICU Medical infusion pumps at multiple hospital locations. This is an initial 3-week engagement, with the potential for future project work related to annual certificate updates, software upgrades, fleet changes, or other device-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform network/security certificate and software updates on ICU Medical infusion pumps according to established procedures.
  • Work with hospital Biomed teams, nursing staff, and clinical departments to locate and access devices.
  • Track each pump by serial number, location, and update status using a shared project tracking system.
  • Prioritize pumps that are idle or available and document devices that are actively in patient use for follow-up.
  • Coordinate with charge nurses and unit staff to minimize disruption to patient care.
  • Troubleshoot basic pump-to-network connectivity issues that may occur during the update process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation throughout the project.
  • Provide daily progress updates and completed pump counts to the onsite project lead.
  • Travel between hospital campuses as required during the engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with infusion pumps or other network-connected medical devices.
  • Familiarity with basic device networking concepts, including Wi-Fi connectivity, network profiles, and security certificates.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document a high volume of medical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a fast, consistent pace throughout the project.
  • Comfortable moving between hospital departments, patient-care units, and multiple floors throughout the workday.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work with minimal disruption in active clinical environments.
  • Ability to meet hospital contractor credentialing requirements, which may include a background check, drug screening, and required health or immunization documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience with ICU Medical infusion pump platforms, including:
    • Plum 360
    • Plum Duo
    • LifeCare PCA
    • MedNet software
  • Previous experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET), Biomedical Technician, Field Service Technician, or similar medical-device support professional.
  • Pharmacy Technician experience involving infusion pump equipment.
  • Experience supporting infusion pumps within a hospital environment.
  • Experience with medical device connectivity or interoperability.
  • Familiarity with EHR/device integration workflows.
  • Experience supporting projects across multiple hospital locations.

Schedule & Logistics

  • Duration: Approximately 3 weeks, with the possibility of future project engagements.
  • Schedule: Full-time, onsite, primarily Monday–Friday.
  • Location: Multiple hospital campuses in South Florida.
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Some schedule flexibility may be required based on device availability and project completion targets.
