What You'll Do:
Champion Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety for yourself and others throughout the operation at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Follow strict regulatory standards and guidelines. Perform all duties safely, observing all State, Homeland Security, ATF, and safety and health rules.
Design, Prepare, and Maintain. Lay out shot pattern and design in coordination with Operations Management. Prepare and load drill holes as required. Maintain powder magazine inventory on blasting agents. Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment and powder magazines.
Inspect. Perform pre-blast inspections of the blast area. Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections.
Report. Complete shot reports, equipment reports, and other necessary paperwork daily. Report and assist in resolving any discrepancies with blasting agent inventory. Report unsafe mechanical conditions to the supervisor.
Operate Equipment. Operate ANFO truck to load blast holes safely. Operate equipment and handle blasting agents with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Operate Equipment. Operate equipment to load blast holes safely. Handle blasting products with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
Additional Responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Skills You'll Need:
Experience. Must have current state blasting license.
Functional and Safety Knowledge. Must have acceptable performance, maintenance, and safety history. Must know mine drilling and blasting standards, production techniques, and equipment. Must know about safety and environmental regulations (MSHA, ATF, OSHA).
Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions andtolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Technology Skills. Must be able to use a telephone, computer, cell phone, blasting equipment and other electronic devices.
Ready to Drive. Must have a valid driver's license and have excellent driving skills.
