Member Service Representative/Teller: Freeport, Illinois
 
Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Member Service Representative (MSR)/Teller to work full-time on 1st shift. As an MSR/Teller, you will serve as a key representative, assisting members with their financial needs while delivering exceptional service.
 
Responsibilities of the MSR/Teller:
  • Maintain and balance assigned cash drawer independently. 
  • Process member transactions accurately, including: Deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments.
  • Check disbursements, general ledger postings, and night drops.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures, over/short practices, and drawer limits.
  • Adhere to BSA guidelines, including CTR and SAR reporting. 
  • Apply check negotiation policies accurately.
  • Respond to member inquiries in person in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Assist in resolving member issues using sound judgment. 
  • Cross-sell products and services, including digital tools (online systems, website, bill pay).
  • Maintain working knowledge of Fiserv and other equipment.
  • Process mail and handle coin machine duties (including basic maintenance).
  • Maintain confidentiality of all member and organizational information.
  • Stay compliant with all regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge of services and answer member questions.
 
MSR/Teller Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience, preferably with cash handling.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Basic PC proficiency required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a positive, friendly attitude.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and strong attendance.
