Job Description

Telemundo Nuevo Mexico (KASA) is seeking a Multiplatform Producer/Anchor Multimedia who will serve as both a newsroom leader and an on-air presence. This hybrid role combines the producing skills and the ability to deliver compelling newscasts on camera. The Multiplatform Producer/Anchor Multimedia will play a vital role in shaping daily coverage, leading journalists, and connecting with our community through authentic storytelling and multiplatform distribution.

Responsibilities:

As a Multiplatform Producer:

  • Leading the production of daily newscasts, special coverage, and in-depth segments.
  • Creating, curating, and distributing news content across web, mobile apps and social media platforms
  • Lead newsroom communication, collaborating with assignment editors, anchors, MMJs, photographers, and production crews.
  • Manage rundowns and control room execution during live broadcasts.
  • Select and shape stories with strong editorial judgment, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and balance.
  • Prioritize community-centered stories that reflect the needs and priorities of our audience.
  • Plan and produce enterprise, sweeps, and special projects.
  • Collaborate with NBC/Telemundo O&O stations and network teams on coverage.
  • Support the Executive Producer, Managing Editor, and News Director in newsroom planning and execution.
  • Contribute ideas for content across all platforms (broadcast, streaming, digital, and social media) to expand reach and engagement.

As an Anchor:

  • Write, edit, and present news stories with professionalism, integrity, and relatability.
  • Deliver live breaking news, special reports, and community-focused coverage.
  • Engage with the audience on multiple platforms, including social media, digital extensions, and live community events.
  • Represent Telemundo Nuevo México at community events, public forums, and station initiatives.
  • Help shape the editorial voice of the newscasts and contribute to audience growth through compelling storytelling.
  • Serve as a newsroom role model, fostering collaboration and high journalistic standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years producing newscasts in a medium/large market.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ anchoring experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken) required.
  • Excellent editorial judgment.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
  • Must be willing to work in Albuquerque, NM and have unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.
