Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry remote monitoring and stroke/neuro patient care experience.

Details
  • Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit caring for a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities
  • Specialized care for stroke (neuro) patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:5-6
  • Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
  • Every other weekend and holidays as needed
  • Floating required across all Cone Health facilities
  • Remote telemetry monitoring experience required, on-unit telemetry monitoring preferred
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
  • BLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with 1:5-6 patient ratios required
  • Skilled in feeding tube care and management
  • Experience accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs
  • Experience with CVA and nasal cannula care
  • Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac
  • Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
  • Third-party education verification required
  • No open background check cases permitted
  • Current driver's license required to verify address
Additional Information
  • Provide nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients with a focus on stroke/neuro conditions
  • May be floated to any Cone Health campus as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO accepted
  • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
