Job Summary and Qualifications Provides direct and indirect nursing services to the patient under the supervision of the registered nurse and performs clerical and receptionist duties necessary for productive operation of the specific patient care area. When assigned to surveillance of cardiac monitors, under the supervision of the professional nursing staff, continuously monitors patients requiring cardiac telemetry.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Annual EKG testing with a pass score of 90% over all with 100% for lethal rhythms.

· Compliance with 5 Standards of Star Service; always delivering exceptional service to our patients, physicians, guests, coworkers, volunteers and vendors

· Maintains education and development appropriate for position.

· Performs position in line with Employee Satisfaction, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, Continuous Performance Improvement, and/or Community Involvement

· Adheres to established hospital and department guidelines and protocols. Supports hospital mission, vision, and values.

· Performs patient care as assigned by the RN and reports observations, results of procedures, and patient/family needs to appropriate person

· Continuously observes patients on telemetry monitoring and reports any rhythm changes to the appropriate

person(s)

· Utilizes time effectively to organize and assist in designated task consistent with educational training and patient care area requirements

· Performs technical skills and designated tasks as outlined during educational training and nursing unit

requirements

· Performs receptionist duties in a courteous and cooperative manner in accordance with Star Service Standards

· Reports observations, results of procedures/lab work and patient/physician needs to the appropriate person(s)

· Documents pertinent data in a concise manner

· Accurately orders supplies/equipment based on department needs

    · Attends work as scheduled, on time and prepared to perform job duties.

    Delivers patient care and/or department service in a safe, competent, and efficient manner as determined by outcomes, quality monitors, and other internal and external processes.

    · Follows established guidelines for compliance with Infection Prevention and TJC Patient Safety Goals and Practices.

    · Maintains positive interpersonal relationships and conducts self to contribute positively to the delivery of quality care and services, and to orderly operation of the department and the facility.

      · Maintains and enhances skills through consultation with interdisciplinary team members, participation in planning activities, and attendance at in-service and continuing education programs.

      What qualifications you will need:
      • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
      • High School diploma, or GED 
      • 1 year hospital experience preferred
