A little about the position:
 
Job Summary
 
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintaining production equipment, facilities, and preventive maintenance. Starting pay is $32.57 per hour.
Some of What You Will Do:
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. 
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. 
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts. 
  • Design and fabricate supporting structures to include but not limited to, frames, tables, workstation aids, etc. 
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. 
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges. 
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. 
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. 
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. 
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. 
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. 
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks. 
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. 
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. 
  • Carefully read manuals and diagrams of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly. 
  • Prioritize daily work orders according to their level of performance. 
  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance. 
  • Maintain inventory levels and stock of replacement parts for shop equipment. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned. 
 
What You Bring to the Table: (Qualifications)
  • 2 – 5 years manufacturing maintenance experience. 
  • Welding skills required (certification or equivalent experience)
  • Working knowledge of CNC equipment & operations
  • Experience with building maintenance; electrical, plumbing and structural knowledge
  • Heavy equipment experience including skid steer and back hoe
  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance process. 
  • Good overall understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems as well as HVAC, fluid pumps, air motors, etc. Certification(s) a plus! 
  • Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and detect malfunctioning. 
  • Possess the discipline to execute tasks without supervision &/or procrastination. 
  • Good time management to work at a good pace, executing work orders and demands. 
  • Ability to handle and operate a variety of tools and heavy equipment including but not limited to, hand tools, power tools, air tools, forklift scissor lift and telehandler. 
  • Knowledge of safety precautions. 
  • Good human relations to relate cordially with all team members.
