Job description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Operate the telehandler and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Perform daily maintenance, cleaning and safety checks of equipment
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary
  • Duties are to facilitate safe, efficient, accurate, and timely receiving, staging, and loading of structural building components.
  • Operate the equipment smoothly, safely and with attachments (if applicable).
  • Operate other heavy equipment and perform other general construction labour related duties as required.
  • Assist other trades around site as needed
  • Perform other related general labour duties as needed


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year experience
  • A strong sense of health and safety on site
  • Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
  • Have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Valid Telehandler Ticket
  • Valid Drivers License is an asset
  • Demonstrates a great attitude towards their work and team


Working conditions

  • Safety Sensitive
  • Work outdoors on construction sites
  • Work closely with other equipment operators and ground crew
  • Personal protection equipment as required
