Job Description:

We are seeking a senior level cloud engineer capable of working with a software development team to provide enterprise system support. Successful candidate will be expected to provide cloud service expertise in one or more of these areas: Java application integration, java enterprise services and experience with the CI/CD pipeline and DEVOPS on the customer network within the AWS Platform. At the expert level the candidate should have extensive experience or training in cloud engineering and is capable not only of delivering capabilities tied to cloud engineering but also capable of passing their knowledge on to others.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with front end technologies like Single Page Applications (Vue, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, Python), Responsive Design.
  • Experience with back end technologies like Microservices, REST, Node.js, JVM (Java - Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, etc.), Database (Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience with build tools like maven, gradle, git, tactical and strategic improvements to large scale Java/J2EE/ products.
  • Experience analyzing customer requirements and providing technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies
  • Experience gathering customer/user/product owner requirements and working with application architects and product owners
  • Experience building and designing web services in the cloud, along with implementing geographically redundant services
  • Evaluate cloud strategy and program architecture
  • Experience selecting appropriate cloud services to design and deploy an application based on given requirements
  • Experience creating functional design specifications, architectures, and providing support for other cloud project deliverables
  • Experience developing and maintaining high visibility cloud-based IT systems
  • Experience deploying, managing, operating, and debugging cloud deployments as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Experience providing support for development in or transition to the cloud, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Experience managing cloud/system infrastructure and any process related to these systems
  • Experience providing support to IT systems including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client issues
  • Experience offering recommendations with respect to cloud migrations, and preparing technical implementation roadmaps for cloud adoption
  • Experience creating and configuring virtual private clouds (VPCs)
  • Experience creating EC2 instances. public and private subnets and auto scaling groups

  • Experience creating users and groups in cloud environments and evaluating systems and making recommendations to increase availability and efficiency
  • Experience with code deployed in cloud environments and the unique services and constructs that are needed for software and systems hosted on cloud platforms
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Documented Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation,etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and deploying in Ruby/Ruby on Rails;

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $186,791. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
