Job Description:
We're looking for a Windows Systems Administrator - Team Lead to support and engineer mission-critical systems within a classified DoD environment. This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership, providing advanced (Tier 2/3) support while guiding daily operations across enterprise Windows infrastructure.
You'll play a key role in maintaining secure, high-availability systems and driving improvements across server, network, and virtualization environments.
What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate a team of system administrators, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across Windows-based infrastructure
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support for internal applications and custom-built systems
  • Manage and maintain Windows server environments in alignment with government versioning and compliance requirements
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and support of COTS, GOTS, and open-source software
  • Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and enhancements across server and client environments
  • Evaluate system configurations, identify gaps, and recommend performance and security improvements
  • Support network operations, including monitoring and firewall configuration
  • Administer core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VDI environments
  • Manage virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
  • Support storage and data protection solutions, including SAN and enterprise backup/recovery
  • Leverage PowerShell for automation and operational efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to change management and configuration control processes within a classified environment

Environment
  • On-site role supporting a secure, classified DoD program

Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • DoD 8140/8570 IAT-II certification
  • 10+ years of experience in systems administration or engineering within enterprise Windows environments

Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience supporting systems in classified DoD environments
  • Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience
