Job description

About the Role

LoadUp is hiring a Director of Marketing to own our growth engine across DTC and marketplace channels. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role based onsite at Avalon in Alpharetta, GA — with direct influence over revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and long-term customer value.

You'll own the strategy and execution of performance marketing, lifecycle marketing, and marketplace growth, leading a high-performing team and reporting into executive leadership.

ResponsibilitiesGrowth Strategy & Performance Marketing
  • Define and own the growth marketing strategy across direct-to-consumer (DTC) and marketplace channels, aligning acquisition, retention, monetization, and revenue growth with company OKRs

  • Lead and optimize seven-figure media budgets across paid social, paid search, programmatic advertising, CTV, and affiliate marketing (Meta, Google, and beyond)

  • Optimize marketing investment against CAC, ROAS, LTV, conversion rate, and unit economics

  • Develop channel-level budget allocation strategies based on performance, incrementality, and growth potential

Experimentation, Analytics & Conversion Optimization
  • Build a rigorous experimentation program (A/B and multivariate testing) across creative, acquisition funnels, pricing, onboarding, and customer journeys

  • Establish growth KPIs and executive-level dashboards for acquisition, retention, revenue, and marketplace performance

  • Partner with analytics and data teams on attribution, measurement, LTV/CAC modeling, and reporting using SQL, BI tools, and experimentation platforms

  • Maintain strong standards for marketing measurement, tracking, attribution, privacy, and data governance

Lifecycle Marketing & Customer Retention
  • Build and scale lifecycle marketing across email, SMS, push, and in-app messaging — including onboarding, retention, reactivation, and win-back programs

  • Improve retention and repeat behavior through segmentation, personalization, testing, and behavioral data

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to improve customer journeys and remove funnel friction

Marketplace Growth
  • Partner with Marketplace Operations and Product to grow marketplace supply and demand

  • Develop acquisition and activation strategies for marketplace buyers and sellers

  • Identify and scale growth levers that improve marketplace activation, utilization, liquidity, and long-term customer value while protecting unit economics

Leadership & Cross-Functional Strategy
  • Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing growth marketing organization, including performance marketers, lifecycle marketing specialists, analysts, and creative partners

  • Lead agency and marketing technology vendor relationships with clear performance and cost-efficiency expectations

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, and Operations to prioritize growth initiatives

  • Present growth strategy, performance insights, forecasts, and recommendations to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • 10+ years of growth marketing, performance marketing, digital marketing, or customer acquisition experience

  • 4+ years of senior marketing leadership experience within a DTC, marketplace, platform, or technology-driven business

  • Demonstrated success scaling paid acquisition across Meta Ads, Google Ads, programmatic, CTV, and affiliate marketing, managing seven-figure or larger digital media budgets

  • Proven experience growing a two-sided marketplace or platform business, with a strong understanding of supply/demand growth, customer acquisition, retention, and unit economics

  • Experience building and scaling lifecycle marketing programs across email, SMS, push, and in-app channels

  • Strong analytical skills with SQL, BI tools, attribution platforms, and experimentation tools, plus experience with modern martech stacks (CDPs, ESPs, analytics platforms)

  • Experience measuring and optimizing CAC, LTV, ROAS, conversion rates, retention, and marketing ROI

  • Proven success hiring, developing, and leading high-performing marketing teams

  • Executive-level communication skills, with experience presenting strategy and performance results to senior leadership

Leadership Profile
  • A strategic operator who balances long-term growth strategy with immediate revenue and unit-economics opportunities

  • A data-first leader who uses analytics and experimentation to accelerate learning and decision-making

  • A team builder who develops strong leaders and creates a collaborative, high-performance culture

  • A cross-functional partner who translates growth opportunities into Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations priorities

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation

  • Health & wellness coverage

  • Generous paid time off

  • 401(k) with 5% company match

  • Monthly lifestyle stipends, employee recognition programs, and referral bonuses
