Job Description:

Perform routine facility maintenance to prevent possible mechanical failure. Change worn out machine parts before they can cause mechanical damage. Conduct quality assessments and maintain inventory. Ensure machines are up and running at all times to keep the facility operating. Expected to be equipped with skills in customer service, problem-solving, reading comprehension, business operation, and mechanical aptitude.

Brief Summary of Primary Duties:

  • Deliver production team plans towards safety, quality, cost and delivery within the scheduled requirements

  • Knowledge in operation of machinery, manufacturing processes, inspection methods, troubleshooting techniques in a safe work environment

  • Maintain safe work environment by abiding by current safety procedures, monitoring operations to develop new safety procedures and working in close cooperation with any affected employees.

  • Responsible for identifying, developing and introducing improvements utilizing Team techniques with a goal of creating and managing a highly effective work.

  • Maintain housekeeping within department.

  • Communicate with other Team members concerning all aspects of the job

Expectations:

  • Abide by all rules and procedures

  • Make safety first priority

  • Report all safety incidents or issues immediately

  • Maintain clean work area

  • Any/All tasks assigned by supervisor

Specific Skills/Training Required

  • Ability to utilize Maximo, SAP, equipment specifications, and blueprints as resource documents

  • Ability to utilize micrometers, calipers, voltmeters, etc.

  • Forklift Training

  • Hazardous Waste Training

  • Understanding of safety, quality and production processes

  • Knowledge of all types of measuring devise, i.e., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, tape measure, etc.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to effectively use basic hand tools.

  • Hands on.

  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions.

  • Results oriented.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and work with limited supervision.

  • Must be able to multitask.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams, with all levels of the workforce.

Qualifications:

  • High School/GED Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Demonstration of mechanical and electrical competencies required via pre-employment assessment

  • Previous 3 years maintenance experience required

  • 3-5 years working in an industrial manufacturing environment required

Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements:

  • Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas

  • Hearing Protection required in posted areas

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to stand 8+ hours on concrete floors

  • Ability to work in an uncontrolled environment (cold/hot)

  • Ability to bend/stoop to floor level for extensive periods of time
