Warehouse Associate - Boxing & Receiving
Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate - Boxing & Receiving is responsible for building standard and custom wood crates, skids, and shipping containers for machine parts and equipment being shipped to customers. This position performs a variety of warehouse, packaging, material handling, and shipping functions to ensure products are safely prepared, documented, and loaded for shipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build standard and custom wood crates, skids, and shipping containers according to specifications and shipping requirements.
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and secure wood materials using tape measures, hand tools, circular saws, panel saws, pneumatic nailers, pneumatic staplers, and battery-powered fastening tools.
  • Prepare products for shipment by packing, bracing, blocking, and securing materials within crates.
  • Schedule shipments and coordinate transportation with freight carriers and logistics providers.
  • Complete shipping documentation and maintain accurate shipping records.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) to move materials and finished shipments safely throughout the facility.
  • Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment, forklifts, and cranes before use.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with inventory movement, material staging, and other warehouse duties as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math calculations.
  • Experience using hand tools, circular saws, panel saws, pneumatic tools, and battery-powered tools.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment (or willingness to become certified).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with appropriate equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for shipping and inventory transactions preferred.
