Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our SCADA & Communications department as a Project Manager. Our Project Managers play an important role in the growth of our SCADA & Telecommunicationsย  and are responsible forย overseeing telecommunications, SCADA, fiber optic, and RTU projects or phases of larger projects. Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close). Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage capital telecommunications, SCADA, and RTU replacement projects or phases of larger projects in accordance with company project management processes, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Lead project planning, design, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities to deliver assigned work within approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Develop scopes of work, requests for proposals, project schedules, cost forecasts, progress reports, risk tracking, and change-control documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors regarding work scope, contract commitments, specifications, schedule requirements, and change management.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized RTU replacement program schedule based on company-provided asset data, projected timelines, engineering readiness, field resource availability, and active capital project schedules.
  • Establish site-specific projects and work orders for RTU replacements, ensuring each project is properly scoped based on size, complexity, communications requirements, equipment needs, and field execution constraints.
  • Coordinate with telecom engineering, assigned engineers, area managers, communication technicians, relay and meter technicians, contractors, and vendors to align resources and support project execution.
  • Track RTU replacement work associated with ongoing capital projects to prevent duplication of work and ensure replacement activities are properly coordinated.
  • Ensure required equipment and materials are ordered, assembled, shipped, and tracked in alignment with project schedules and site readiness.
  • Coordinate field execution, legacy RTU decommissioning, equipment removal, as-built documentation, and project closeout in accordance with established procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of four years directly related professional experience.
  • Able to work full time on-site at client locations in Oregon - Portland, Bend, Roseburg, Albany, Medford, Grants Pass, Klamath Falls or Salt Lake City
  • Experience with utilities telecommunications and SCADA
  • Occasional travel
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or possess a valid Green Card (Permanent Resident Card) to be considered.
