What is the position?

Evercore ISI is seeking an Associate to join its Media & Communications equity research team in New York, NY. This position offers significant opportunity for career progression, with meaningful responsibility for published research, financial and industry models, investment analysis, and client engagement across a differentiated coverage universe spanning established telecom and cable (e.g., AT&T, Comcast, T-Mobile, Verizon), media and live entertainment (e.g., Disney, Fox, Formula One, Live Nation), and emerging areas such as space connectivity (SpaceX).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take meaningful responsibility for covered companies and develop differentiated investment analyses, with high visibility for individual contributions
  • Develop and maintain company-specific and industry financial models
  • Perform financial, operational, and valuation analysis across coverage universe
  • Develop well-supported investment views and contribute to actionable stock recommendations
  • Author company-specific and thematic research reports, including in-depth analysis of key industry trends
  • Monitor company, industry, competitive, regulatory, and technology developments relevant to covered companies and investment theses
  • Attend industry events and engage with companies and industry participants to develop informed perspectives on key trends
  • Collaborate with other members of the team on in-depth company, industry, and thematic research
  • Interact with corporate coverage and institutional investors
  • Oversee data collection and identify opportunities to improve research processes and analysis
  • Other duties as necessary

Specific Qualifications

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, and analytically rigorous, with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in equity markets. Candidates should be self-starters who can operate independently, develop conviction around investment ideas, communicate their views clearly, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Prior experience in sell-side research, buy-side research, or investment banking is preferred, while experience or demonstrated interest in media, communications, or technology is a plus.

  • 2+ years of prior experience in equity research, investment banking, buy-side investing, or another relevant finance role
  • Exceptional analytical skills and Excel modeling capabilities
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation, and fundamental investment analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the role entails significant research writing and client interaction
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Genuine passion for equity markets and the ability to quickly develop expertise in new companies and sectors
  • Experience using AI, automation, data analysis, or other technology tools to enhance research productivity and generate differentiated insights
  • Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses (or willingness to obtain)

Expected Base Salary Range:$110,000 - $130,000
