About the Role
The Telecom Sales Manager leads our B2B sales team across Central Florida, driving regional revenue growth through a team of Account Executives who sell high-value connectivity and cloud solutions. Reporting to the VP, Sales & Marketing, the team's portfolio spans Fiber Internet (FIA), Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Hosted Voice, Metro Ethernet, and SD-WAN, and this role owns the strategy, coaching, and forecasting needed to compete for both SMB and complex Enterprise opportunities. We're looking for an experienced, results-driven leader with deep enterprise sales expertise in the Central Florida technology landscape, an established network of local business contacts, and a proven record of scaling high-performing B2B sales teams. We instill confidence every day by delivering reliable solutions and brilliant service, and this role is central to keeping that promise on the front line of our business.
What the Role Involves
  • Hiring, training, and coaching a field-based team of B2B telecom Account Executives across Central Florida
  • Directing team strategy for SMB and complex Enterprise deals involving Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Metro Ethernet, and multi-site SD-WAN architectures
  • Managing the sales pipeline within the CRM to ensure accurate tracking from lead generation through contract signing
  • Setting and enforcing monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue quotas for individual reps and the region
  • Cultivating executive-level relationships with key enterprise clients, local government entities, and business groups across Central Florida
  • Providing accurate weekly and monthly sales forecasts and market analysis to corporate leadership
  • Collaborating with network engineering, product management, and provisioning teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Championing Smart City's business principles and service standards of safety, courtesy, accuracy, and responsiveness in every customer interaction

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of successful B2B telecom sales experience, including 2-3 years in a sales management or team lead role
  • Experience selling into hospitality, healthcare, public sector, professional services, or construction verticals
  • Existing relationships with Central Florida economic development organizations or local government agencies
  • Strong technical fluency in Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Hosted Voice/UCaaS, Metro Ethernet topologies, and SD-WAN deployments
  • Proven experience navigating the Central Florida business ecosystem, with a strong understanding of the regional competitive telecom landscape
  • Advanced, hands-on experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot) for pipeline and metrics tracking
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with both customers and internal partners
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel daily within Central Florida (Orlando, Space Coast, and surrounding areas) up to 50% of the time for client meetings and ride-alongs
