Summary of Position

Working as part of a care team for Teladoc Health Medical Group, the Primary Care Physician provides best in class virtual patient care via video and telephonic appointments. This unique opportunity will contribute to shaping the evolution of virtual primary care as an industry standard to make primary care accessible, affordable and effective for all.

Teladoc will function as your primary employer, excluding the opportunity to work for competing telehealth companies. This is a full-time 40 hours per week role with shifts varying Monday - Saturday, including some evenings. Shifts will be scheduled based upon the needs of the business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with a healthcare team to provide patients with exceptional primary care services virtually via video and phone communication channels, within the standard of care for primary care patients.
  • Order laboratory and radiology tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate.
  • Be accessible to the Care Team to solve problems and keep the entire panel well cared for in a timely manner.
  • Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions, including discussing potential side effects and risks associated with allergies, interactions with other medications and/or health conditions as appropriate.
  • Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing.
  • Consistently meet or exceed clinical quality and patient care standards, including adhering to department policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  • Record complete, timely and legible medical records.
  • Attendance at meetings, 1:1 provider assessments and other required meetings as deemed by leadership.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with and provide support as needed for the full range of Teladoc services including medical second opinion, treatment decision support, behavioral health, tele-dermatology and other service offerings.
  • Support the Medical Director and product team in the development of new products and services, as needed.
  • Collaborative oversight of advanced practice providers as required by business needs.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Demonstrated passion regarding the delivery of high-quality virtual care.
  • History of strong clinical performance.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer-based applications.
  • Attention to detail and timely presentation to patient appointments imperative.
  • Mult-state licenses and willingness to become licensed in additional states as required and funded by the Company.
  • Active NY and/or TX physician licensure highly desired.
  • Letter of Qualification (LOQ) for obtaining additional state licenses is highly desired.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a virtual setting, demonstrating strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and interdisciplinary teams remotely.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly evolving virtual care practices and embrace innovative technologies.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Experience in Obesity Medicine is highly desired.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

The below qualifications, knowledge, experience and/or background are required for this role. License certifications must be actively maintained.

  • 5+ years post-residency experience as a Primary Care Physician in a clinical setting.
  • ABMS board certification in primary care or related field from successful completion of a residency at an accredited healthcare institution in Family Medicine or IM/Peds.
  • M.D. or D. O. degree from an accredited United States medical school.
  • Must hold a minimum of 3 active, unrestricted State Medical Practitioner licenses.
  • No disciplinary actions within the last 5 years.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) eligible.
  • Must reside in the United States and not require sponsorship.

The base salary range for this position is$ 245,300.In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed hereTeladoc Health Benefits 2026.Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.This information is applicable for all full-time positions.

You will accrue 8 hours of PTO per semi-monthly pay period. You will also receive 80 hours of Paid Sick, Safe, and Caregiver Leave annually. This applies to full-time positions only. If you are applying for a part-time role, your recruiter can provide additional details.
