Position Purpose:
The Diesel Technician provides intermediate knowledge and abilities of reconditioning of leased Class 8 vehicles. This includes Mechanical and Interior repairs and replacement of parts.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose repairs with limited assistance.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Clock in and out of work orders correctly.
  • Clearly document work performed with correct complaint, cause, and correction
  • Maintain CDL, if required.
  • Meet or exceed company expected repair times per task.
  • Clear and timely communication to the parts department of parts needed.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and adheres to OSHA guidelines.
  • Continuously learn, share, and implement improvements in all processes and responsibilities as needed to enhance effectiveness of providing world class service and support.
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities:
  • Able to complete task’s/ jobs within Standard Repair Times regularly.
  • Complete and thorough knowledge of DOT guidelines and requirements.
  • Complete knowledge of PM process and requirements.
  • Communicates well with Parts Department to secure needed parts.
  • Tags and returns warranty parts needed for Manufacture along with needed cores.
  • Communicates with shop manager and assistant manager immediately if additional work is needed.
  • Documents all work performed in clear and precise manner on all RO’s.
  • Keeps his/her shop area clean, clutter free to promote a safe working environment.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Mechanically inclined.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Brake Inspector
Wage: $24.04 - $28.85 per hour
