Virginia Commonwealth University Health System is seeking a Receiving Specialist to support daily shipping, receiving, and inventory operations. This role requires a strong customer service mindset, reliability, and comfort with physical job demands. Interviews will be held in person, and parking is not provided on-site.

• Package Receiving — Receive and verify incoming purchase orders using MMIS.
• Package Research — Investigate packages without purchase orders and resolve quickly.
• Inventory Maintenance — Clean, organize, and secure inventory areas.
• Transport & Delivery — Deliver packages to internal customers and verify delivery accuracy.
• Loading & Unloading — Safely load, unload, wrap, and prepare items using pallet jacks.
• Documentation — Record incoming and outgoing shipments accurately.
• DEI Commitment — Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through daily interactions.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with customers.
• Basic computer or handheld device proficiency.
• Ability to meet physical demands: lifting 0–100+ lbs, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, pushing/pulling, and prolonged standing/walking.

• Warehouse Experience — 1 year of warehouse or supply chain experience.

• Exposure to weather (hot, cold, dust, wind).
• High noise levels and bright lights.
• Periods of high stress, interruptions, and working alone.
• May involve access to medications or related supplies.

• Punctuality and reliability
• Clear understanding of physical job requirements

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
