Job description

Job Title: CAD Drafter/Designer III Location: Lynnwood, WA Type: Contract Compensation: $32 per hour Work Model: Onsite Overview This is a mid-level CAD design role focused on creating detailed engineering drawings for mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components and assemblies. The position works closely with engineers to convert prototypes, sketches, photographs, and existing parts into accurate, production-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare formal engineering drawings using the client's standard drawing templates.
  • Create drawings based on existing/on-hand parts, photographs, engineering sketches, and working prototype parts and assemblies.
  • Develop drawings for mechanical parts, electrical cables and connectors, and electrical/electronic assemblies.
  • Prepare outline and installation drawings for electrical circuit card assemblies.
  • Incorporate appropriate dimensions, tolerances, and design details under engineering guidance.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and follow detailed drawing instructions.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components and assemblies.
  • Interpret engineering sketches, prototypes, photographs, and physical parts to develop accurate CAD drawings.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional Computer-Aided Design (CAD) experience.
  • Experience creating formal engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, electronic, and/or electromechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to work onsite and follow direction from engineering personnel.
  • Ability to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SolidWorks.
  • Stronger experience with GD&T and engineering drawing practices.
  • Experience working with prototype parts and assemblies.
  • Active security clearance or previous clearance experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment This is an onsite position in Lynnwood, WA. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers and other technical personnel to produce accurate, production-quality engineering drawings.
