What is a Techsource?

A Techsource typically refers to a company or provider that specializes in supplying technology products, services, or solutions. This can include hardware, software, IT consulting, managed services, or technical support for businesses and individuals. Techsource companies help organizations stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and ensure their technology infrastructure is efficient and secure. The specific offerings may vary depending on the Techsource's area of expertise and the industries they serve.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Techsource, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Techsource, you need strong analytical abilities, a solid understanding of technology trends, and relevant educational or professional experience in IT or technology sourcing. Familiarity with sourcing platforms, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and technical assessment tools is typically required. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills help Techsources engage with candidates and hiring managers effectively. These abilities ensure the successful identification and recruitment of top technical talent in a competitive market.

Techsource and Network Technician roles share similar credentials and work environments, often overlapping in hardware and network troubleshooting. However, Techsource may encompass broader IT support tasks, while Network Technicians focus specifically on network infrastructure. Both roles are vital in maintaining network and IT systems across various industries.

How does a Techsource professional typically collaborate with engineering and procurement teams?

A Techsource professional often acts as a liaison between engineering and procurement teams to ensure technical requirements are clearly communicated and met during the sourcing process. They review engineering specifications, identify suitable suppliers, and facilitate discussions to resolve any discrepancies or technical challenges. This collaborative approach helps ensure that products or services procured align with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Effective communication and coordination are key skills in this role, as it requires balancing technical accuracy with procurement efficiency.

About TechSource, Inc.

TechSource is a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm specializing in the management and technical delivery of large-scale nuclear and high-technology projects. Our expertise spans scientific, engineering, and technical domains that support federal missions, national laboratories, and defense programs. We are proud to partner with LANL under the TRIAD Maintenance & Operations contract, contributing to mission success and operational excellence. TechSource delivers solutions through hundreds of experts with decades of experience and a strong commitment to safety-centric execution.

Your Opportunity

TechSource, Inc. is seeking a Work Control Planner to support mission-critical maintenance, operations, and construction activities onsite at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) as part of the TRIAD Maintenance & Operations contract. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and authorizing work activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution of work in DOE-regulated facilities.

As a Work Control Planner, you will work closely with LANL personnel, craft teams, engineers, and internal TechSource staff to develop work packages that meet safety, quality, and operational requirements. This position supports rotating shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holiday coverage.

Relocation Assistance

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, operations, safety, and field personnel to ensure work is properly scoped, sequenced, and authorized.
  • Identify hazards and required controls, ensuring compliance with Integrated Work Management (IWM) and Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) requirements.
  • Ensure work packages include accurate task descriptions, procedures, permits, drawings, materials, and labor resources.
  • Participate in work reviews, pre-job briefings, and scheduling meetings to support safe and efficient execution.
  • Track work progress, resolve planning issues, and support changes or re-planning as required.
  • Ensure adherence to LANL policies, DOE regulations, and site-specific safety and quality standards.
