The Software organization develops software applications focused on providing cutting edge capabilities and solutions to our customers toughest challenges. The Software org is made up of several Centers located across the country, responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle . Are you a passionate, motivated Software Developer interested in a rewarding career in the Defense Industry? We are looking for a Software Engineer I with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne IN.

• Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
• Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
• Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.
• Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or Java.
• Understanding of software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
• Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
