Repsol is seeking an engineering student to intern with the Maintenance Engineering Team during the summer of 2027.

Job Description: The successful candidate will be assigned a project within an area of interest to be supervised by a senior member of the Maintenance Engineering Team, collaborating as follows:
  • Support the development of a program that combines the technical requirements for integrity inspection and maintenance for each system, piece of equipment or element, and the activities necessary to comply with those requirements.
  • Participate and support risk identification and management activities (Hazid/Hazop) with the aim of ensuring production process safety and minimizing exposure of people, installations and the environment, before, during and after the conclusion of operations.
  • Ensure the application of engineering, construction and Safety and Environment standards and regulations during the design phase, ensuring the application of lessons learned, best practices and key indicators by means of the knowledge management technologies available.
  • Investigate, review and implement new technologies and standards in order to improve the availability and reliability of process equipment. Identify and consider any relevant changes in technology and standards.
  • Compile and keep the performance, procedures, control and work instructions standards for maintenance and integrity up to date, in order to ensure compliance with maintenance and integrity policies.
  • Provide support in the identification of strategic spare parts / components and determine methods to ensure their immediate availability.
  • Support the preparation of Technical Specifications to establish the process of purchasing materials and services.
  • Compile and transfer lessons learned, best practices and key indicators by means of the knowledge management methodologies available.
  • Collaborate on the preparation and control of the maintenance budget in your area of specialization.
  • Support the management of the Maintenance Engineering team leader in the technical aspects of maintenance and technical integrity.

Requirements for Consideration:
  • Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
  • Undergrad (or higher) Mechanical engineering degree in process, or related discipline.
  • Students with an expected graduation 2028-2029 are encouraged to apply (juniors or sophomores). May 2027 graduates may only be considered if enrolled in a post-graduate program.
  • Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher, to be confirmed with transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)
  • Must be available for a continuous 12-week period for the duration of the 2027 summer intern program, starting May 17th and ending on August 6th.

Internship Details:
  • Position will be based out of our office in The Woodlands, TX. Interns are expected onsite Monday-Friday, with the exception of 9/80's. The 9/80 schedule is optional per the manager's discretion, based on intern project scope and timeline.
  • Non-local candidates may be considered but must arrange their own travel and temporary accommodations. A summer stipend will be provided to help offset out of pocket expenses.
  • Students must be available for the full duration of the internship from May 17-Aug 6. Any personal time off must be approved by the supervisor as unpaid leave and should be noted with the recruiter as early as possible.
  • Interns will receive an hourly wage but are not eligible for benefits or paid time off. Interns will be compensated for observed company holidays.
