Job Overview

As a Project Manager / Estimator, you'll play a key leadership role at Modus Construction. You'll manage projects ranging from $100K to $20M--handling estimating, bidding, negotiations, and ensuring successful project delivery.

You'll be the bridge between clients, design teams, and field operations, supporting superintendents with the resources, schedules, and leadership needed to bring projects to life. Ultimately, you'll carry responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and with the highest level of quality and integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate estimates and detailed scopes of work.
  • Lead contract evaluations and negotiations.
  • Provide strong project leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability.
  • Manage subcontractor/vendor agreements, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Track invoicing, budgets, and cost reports.
  • Strengthen client relationships and represent Modus with integrity.
  • Develop schedules, look-aheads, and coordinate with Superintendents.
  • Oversee field operations support, safety, and quality standards.
  • Identify risks, resolve issues, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Lead project meetings, maintain organized files, and ensure clear communication.
  • Perform other site duties as needed to ensure project success.

  • Senior Project Manager (if applicable)
  • COO or CEO
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of construction experience (degree in Construction Management preferred).
  • Proven leadership and project management expertise.
  • Strong customer, subcontractor, and team relations skills.
  • Experience with estimating, take-offs, and cost management.
  • Solid computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in reading/interpreting prints and specifications.
  • A collaborative team player with a desire to grow.
