Security Project Manager

Summary

Our client is looking for a Security Project Manager to lead complex technology and security-focused projects, with ownership of several concurrent high-visibility initiatives. The role requires a strong, accountable delivery leader who communicates well with senior stakeholders and works collaboratively across teams. This is a hybrid role in Overland Park, KS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads complex technology projects end-to-end using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies
  • Owns delivery across a portfolio including compliance/audit support, data security initiatives, and security program development
  • Manages project plans, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, and vendor relationships
  • Communicates status and recommendations clearly to executive leadership
  • Coordinates with global stakeholders and teams as needed
  • Mentors junior project team members
  • Maintains project documentation and applies established PM standards

Qualifications

  • BS/BA preferred or equivalent experience
  • Significant project management experience, ideally in technology or security environments
  • Strong track record of driving projects to completion
  • Broad security knowledge (compliance frameworks, cloud/AI security, cyber risk)
  • Excellent stakeholder and executive communication skills
  • Collaborative, team-first working style
  • Experience with globally distributed teams
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Preferred

  • DevSecOps or application security experience
  • Compliance audit experience (HITRUST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
  • Azure DevOps or Jira experience
  • Insurance/brokerage industry experience
