Hyperion Technology Group, Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist to assist in the development of Product, Testing and Calibration functions related to our infrasonic product line. Extensive knowledge and experience in infrasonic acoustic measurement and sensor design is required Qualified candidates hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (Ph.D. preferred), bring a research background in acoustic infrasonic research, and demonstrate strong technical writing, presentation, and academic publishing credentials. Duties/Responsibilities:Help generate product roadmaps for existing sensor systemsRefine and develop state of the art NIST traceable calibration systems and processesInvestigate and test product development and sustainability.Independently develop new and novel approaches where necessaryInterface cooperatively with subject matter domain expertsAuthor and/or contribute to material for peer-reviewed publishingWork cooperatively with team members from other disciplinesRequired Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of mathematics, physics, and statistics at the graduate levelExcellent track record of R&D in the infrasonic acoustic sensor arenaAbove-average technical writing and presentation skillsExperience:Minimum Master's Degree in Physics, Mathematics, or Electrical Engineering; Ph.D. preferred15 years of experience in a research-centric environment; this could also include post-baccalaureate academic researchDemonstrated experience developing and implementing acoustic infrasonic sensors in research environmentsDemonstrated experience in sensor calibration equipment and designExperience authoring technical reports, papers, or peer-reviewed publicationsPreferred Experience:Ph.D. in Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldPrior research or development work involving infrasonic or acoustic sensing systemsExperience presenting research findings to government or industry stakeholdersPrior experience working in a DoD or federal contracting environmentPhysical Requirements: Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors. Candidate must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Duties will also require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting light to moderately heavy objects.
