Student Worker - Technical Theater
The Blinn College District is searching for a Student Worker - Technical Theater at our Brenham Campus.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Assist the Technical Theatre Arts Director for Theatre Arts productions, college events, community events, and general facilities and equipment maintenance/organization. All work is done under the regular guidance, direction, and supervision of theatre arts faculty.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Executes designs for scenery, lighting, sound, costumes, and properties for Blinn College Theatre productions as directed
  • Organize teams of peers in order to accomplish tasks as outlined above
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the technical areas, including the scene shop, costume shop, lighting/sound workrooms, storage, and backstage areas.
  • Provide technical support for Blinn College sponsored events in the Performing Arts Center including Theatre Arts, Music, Student Life, Alumni, Community, and other events as assigned.
  • Complete office duties as assigned
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
  • Students should be enrolled full-time and be eligible for the Federal Work Study program as a part of their financial aid.

  • A strong background in areas that relate directly to technical theater. Examples: enrollment in coursework or direct experience in scenic design/construction or costumes
  • Skills using tools (power and analog), working with lights (design and installation)
