Job description

Human Resource Assistant (Intern)

Visionary Broadband seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Human Resource Assistant (Intern)This part-time (20-25 hours per week) hourly position will join the Human Resource team at Visionary Broadband, a division of Visionary Communications, Inc., one of the top service providers in the region. The position will be based out of Visionary’s Gillette, WY office. This is a temporary position (approximately 20 weeks of work)

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Complete all requisition to new employee pre-hire tasks.
    • Receive signed requisition and job descriptions from C-level Managers, post the roles in ADP.
    • Update internal Teams site with all new hires, start dates, locations, and equipment/vehicle/office needs
    • Work with outside vendor(s) to get background check and DMV check (when needed) completed on all new hires. Share results with Talent Manager/HR Manager when information is not within normal parameters.
    • Work with new hire to schedule pre-employment drug screen in their home location.
  • Create new hire personnel files.
  • Schedule new hires travel to onboarding including potential flights, hotels and rental cars.
  • Reach out to co-workers to get “Meet US Monday” information and post on Teams
  • Facilitate monthly wellness projects
  • Assist with planning and coordinating company activities (to include picnics in multiple locations)
  • Other projects as assigned 

 

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate must possess the following skills, or have equivalent experience and/or qualifications:

  • Working toward degree in human resources, business or another related field or experience in human resource related job functions preferred.
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines through time and project management skills
  • Ability to learn, understand and explain company policies, procedures as well as state and federal laws.
  • Ability to keep all company information and material confidential at all times.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires working in an office setting, climbing, stooping, bending and other physical requirements.

10%+ / - of the time will be spent walking and standing in various weather conditions, as well as occasional lifting and / or carrying and / or pushing / pulling of items less than 25lbs.

Visual and audio acuity is essential to this position.
