Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Project Manager to join our team located in the Ft. Meade, MD area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with management to determine priorities and structuring the team’s work to align appropriately with those priorities, while effectively managing expectations at all levels.
  • Managing requirements, to include coordinating and facilitating exchange meetings or forums to determine/validate requirements and ensuring tasks are performed according to agreed-upon plans.
  • Working with staff and leads to understand and document scope and identify responsibilities, timelines, delegating phases and elements to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Updating, maintaining, and tracking all requirements in JIRA, and through other methods as directed.
  • Using standard methods and procedures to track and maintain work parameters, and hosting/attending required meetings.
  • Maintaining consistent, proactive, and timely communication with management and other internal stakeholders, particularly regarding outages, and events that may impact other teams.
  • Preparing and presenting status reports, deliverables, and briefings as required.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests for assistance from outside parties and other technical teams.
  • Organizing and maintaining documentation so it is easily interpreted by all required parties as well as collaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to build relationships and achieve objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Experience conveying technical concepts to various audiences and to communicate effectively with senior managers, colleagues, and others.
  • Experience with complex customer situations and interact with all levels of personnel to provide quick and effective resolutions.
  • Experience successfully managing disparately located personnel, tasks, and projects coupled with proven ability to build and maintain constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors across the customer base.
  • Experience with Managerial knowledge of project management, project engineering, or project planning.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and managing applicable parameters.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7 years of hands-on relevant experience in a technical field.
  • 5 years of experience on a program having a project leadership/support role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
  • Active PMP® Certification or equivalent project management or Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with Agile project management experience, to include experience with Agile development-related project management applications such as Jira and/or ServiceNow.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira and Confluence.

Clearance Requirements:

Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Poly

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
