Job description

Job Summary:

The Blending A Operator is responsible for performing advanced blending operations, including the preparation of specialty and complex fluid blends. This role ensures all blending activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and quality standards. The Blending A Operator plays a key role in production execution, equipment operation, documentation accuracy, and coordination with team members to meet operational goals.


Duties/Responsibilities:

•    Identify and report workplace hazards prior to beginning tasks; promote a strong safety culture. 

•    Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards. 

•    Participate in pre-shift meetings, shift handoffs, and required safety training. 

•    Report all safety incidents and accidents; complete required documentation when leadership is unavailable. 

•    Perform blending operations for various product types, including specialty and multi-size blends. 

•    Plan and operate blending equipment and pumps in coordination with the Shift Lead or Supervisor. 

•    Communicate effectively with B Operators and team members to ensure workflow efficiency. 

•    Monitor, maintain, and record tank temperatures for heated components. 

•    Track and maintain accurate tank inventory levels; complete transfer documentation as required. 

•    Accurately document all material movements using required forms (e.g., Blend Checklist, BRMRR). 

•    Maintain appropriate levels of supplies and equipment for blend room operations. 

•    Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure operational reliability. 

•    Collaborate with team members to achieve production and departmental goals. 

•    Communicate professionally with cross-functional teams and plant personnel. 

•    Perform additional duties as assigned by management. 


Required Skills:

•    Strong understanding of safety practices and hazard identification 

•    Ability to perform complex blending operations and follow technical processes 

•    Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and inventory tracking 

•    Effective communication and teamwork skills 

•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment 

•    Self-motivated with strong initiative and accountability 

•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems 

•    Ability to read, interpret, and follow ISO procedures 

•    Working knowledge of pumps, process piping, and blending systems 

•    Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and equipment maintenance 


Education and Experience:

•    High School Diploma or equivalent required 

•    Experience in blending, manufacturing, or process operations preferred 

•    Demonstrated ability to apply math skills (logic, algebra, and geometry) in a work setting 

•    Experience with pumps, process piping, and fluid systems preferred 


Physical Requirements:

•    Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods 

•    Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds 

•    Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat and industrial settings 

•    Ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and work at elevated heights when necessary 

•    Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

•    Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements as needed
