Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Technical Operations Coordinator provides plant-facing coordination and technical administrative support for the TNN2 General Manager, Vice President of Manufacturing, and TNN2 department leaders. This position maintains the accuracy and timely flow of tooling work orders, maintenance work orders, tooling purchase orders, maintenance purchase orders, operational reports, project documentation, and action items. Key focus on both tooling pmโ€™s, maintenance pmโ€™s, manning and resource planning for the same. The role works across the plant and shared-services functions to remove administrative barriers, improve data visibility, and ensure assigned operational and engineering priorities are completed and properly documented.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Coordinate day-to-day technical and operational support for the TNN2 General Manager, Vice President of Manufacturing, and TNN2 department leaders.
  2. Create, route, monitor, and close work orders; verify required information, approvals, supporting documentation, status, and completion dates.
  3. Prepare purchase requisitions and purchase orders for approved materials, services, tooling, equipment, and contracted work; track approvals, delivery commitments, receipts, and open items.
  4. Work with requestors, purchasing, suppliers, receiving, and accounting to resolve discrepancies involving pricing, quantities, receipts, invoices, job numbers, and supporting documentation.
  5. Maintain accurate records for work orders, purchase orders, expenditures, projects, equipment, inventory, and other assigned operational activities.
  6. Collect, validate, analyze, and summarize production, engineering, maintenance, quality, launch, capacity, cost, and other operational data.
  7. Prepare and distribute accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports, dashboards, charts, and management-review materials; identify missing data, discrepancies, trends, overdue items, and required follow-up.
  8. Maintain data and documentation in ShopEdge, QCBD, Microsoft Office applications, and other NASG systems; promote consistent data-entry and recordkeeping practices.
  9. Coordinate meetings, agendas, materials, minutes, action registers, and follow-up for manufacturing, engineering, and continuous-improvement activities.
  10. Monitor assigned projects and action items, communicate status and risks, and follow up with owners to support on-time completion.
  11. Support new launches and engineering changes by maintaining master checklists, job books, specifications, drawings, work instructions, lockout/tagout documentation, and other required records.
  12. Support internal, customer, and third-party audits by collecting records, organizing evidence, tracking corrective actions, and maintaining document readiness.ย 
  13. Develop, revise, and control forms, reports, work instructions, standard work, and other documents for processes that are not clearly defined or consistently followed.
  14. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling, Quality, Purchasing, Finance, Program Management, EHS, and other functions to resolve information and workflow gaps.
  15. Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling business, financial, personnel, customer, supplier, and project information.
  16. Demonstrate a hands-on, involved, go-see approach by routinely working with department owners and verifying information at the point of activity when needed.
  17. Identify and implement practical improvements that reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, improve reporting accuracy, and increase visibility of priorities.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  19. Assist Social Committee activities along with HR, coordinate meetings and events, and communicate activities to employees.
  20. Facilitate weekly TCS executive reviews, run and communicate TCS performance reports, track month-end results, and support leaders with TCS submissions.
  21. Develop and facilitate executive summary reviews, audit KPI data and supporting evidence.
  22. Review operational excellence metrics and escalate missing data.
  23. Monitor APQP activities, run and communicate status reports, track PPAP and Run-at-Rate deadlines, escalate risks, and facilitate APQP meetings.
  24. Assist continuous improvement teams.
  25. Support the annual planning cycle and master capacity planning activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in business, engineering technology, manufacturing, operations, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing, engineering support, operations coordination, purchasing, maintenance planning, program support, or a related role.
  • Automotive stamping, welding, assembly, tooling, or Tier I/Tier II manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience processing work orders, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, invoices, or cost records preferred.
  • Experience preparing operational reports and coordinating cross-functional action items required.

Personal/Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and the interaction among production, engineering, maintenance, tooling, quality, purchasing, finance, and program management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify discrepancies, collect facts, determine root causes, and drive follow-up.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and complete time-sensitive work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with plant-floor associates, technical personnel, suppliers, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated follow-through, sound judgment, adaptability, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and useful reports, dashboards, charts, presentations, and action summaries.
  • Hands-on, involved, go-see approach and willingness to spend time in manufacturing areas.

Language Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Computer/Software:

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related computer-based applications.
  • Experience with ShopEdge, QCBD, ERP, CMMS, purchasing, project-management, or document-control systems preferred.
