SENIOR TECHNICAL EDITOR

Position Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Sr. Technical Editorto join our team, supporting the Department of the Navy (DoN). The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products, and have prior experience in database management. This individual will play a key role in compiling and refining technical information, monitoring and reporting schedules, preparing professional deliverables, and ensuring compliance with government reporting standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, review, edit, and format technical documentation, reports, and presentations to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to standards.
  • Collaborate with government customers to gather, organize, and refine technical information.
  • Coordinate with government personnel across commands to schedule and prepare time-sensitive briefings with Navy activities.
  • Regularly monitor assignment schedules and provide updates to program managers.
  • Edit recurring deliverables, including monthly status reports, presentations, and technical documents.
  • Utilize desktop publishing tools for documentation design, development, and formatting.
  • Ensure high attention to detail, including grammar, spelling, syntax, and compliance with style guides.
  • Serve as a Media Transfer Agent (MTA), managing secure data transfers, generating transmittals, maintaining deliverable logs, and updating document inventory systems for Navy customers.
  • Ensure deliverables meet specified deadlines and security requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and desktop publishing tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical editing and document management within a professional environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with team members and SMEs.

    The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
