A Technical Curriculum Developer is a professional responsible for designing, developing, and updating educational materials and training programs focused on technical subjects. They work closely with subject matter experts to ensure the content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with industry standards. Their work may include creating lesson plans, e-learning modules, assessments, and instructional guides for learners ranging from students to professionals. Technical Curriculum Developers play a key role in helping organizations and educational institutions deliver effective technical training.

How does a technical curriculum developer typically collaborate with subject matter experts during course creation?

Technical Curriculum Developers work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure course content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with learning objectives. Job description

Technical Enablement Curriculum Developer – AI/Developer Platform

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York, NY offices; Remote
Contract: 12-month W2 contract
Pay: $170–$185/hour depending on experience

About the Role
Russell Tobin is partnering with a leading AI technology company to hire a Technical Enablement Curriculum Developer.

In this role, you will curate and build the technical curriculum behind the company’s go-to-market enablement programs, including courses, hands-on labs, demos, and presentations covering enterprise AI products, applications, and APIs.

The materials you produce will be delivered live in technical onboarding programs and used across the broader go-to-market organization. You will work closely with enablement leads, program owners, and cross-functional partners to build scalable, technically accurate learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Curate existing materials into structured, reusable curriculum for our technical onboarding and ongoing enablement programs, including:
  • Build new courses, labs, demos, and presentations across enterprise, app, and API product areas
  • Keep materials current as products ship: update labs, demos, and decks each release cycle
  • Build hands-on exercises that work reliably in live classroom settings
  • Partner with enablement leads, program owners, and product marketing on content priorities
  • Document sources and structure so the curriculum is maintainable after handoff

Required

  • Technical background in solutions engineering, developer relations, technical training, or similar
  • Able to build working demos and labs against APIs and AI products, not just describe them
  • Strong technical writing and instructional design: you can turn raw material into teachable content
  • Self-directed: can take a surface area and a backlog and drive it without close management

Nice-to-Have

  • Hands-on experience with LLM products and APIs
  • Prior curriculum or enablement work for technical go-to-market audiences
  • Familiarity with Claude products
