Responsibilities
Noblis MSD is seeking to hire a Technical Writer to support the US Navy out of Newport, RI. Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings.
The Technical Writer will be responsible for:
  • Producing a variety of standard documents including correspondence, form letters, reports, tables and other printed materials.
  • Ensuring written documents are free from grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
  • Gathering data from reference guides and equipment manuals.
  • Reporting and seeking instruction on deviations from established procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree with 1 year of writing/administrative experience or High School diploma with 6 years of writing/administrative experience, or Associates Degree with 3 years of writing/administrative experience.
  • US Citizen with a DoD Secret clearance or able to obtain a DoD secret.
  • Experience in technical writing and documentation.
  • Possess a demonstrated proficiency in the use of the following computer software: Microsoft Word and Company software.
  • Experience using NAVWAR software related procedures on submarines, surface, or shore installations.
  • Experience using the NAVWAR System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) Preparation and Execution Guide (SPEG) instruction on submarines, surface, or shore installations.

Desired Qualifications
  • Prior work experience directly supporting NUWCDIVNPT Code 25 submarine Tactical Networks programs
  • Familiarity with CANES (AN/USQ-208), SubLAN (AN/USQ-177), ADNS, and Tactical Networks Next Generation (TN Next Gen) architectures and modernization roadmaps across SSN, SSBN, and SSGN platforms

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
