Your ROLE on Our Team:
The Senior Designer is responsible for transforming the technical requirements into functional designs and precise 3D CAD models, integrating industrial design concepts, creating detailed drawings and product documentation. This role involves supporting engineers with generating potential design solutions for technical challenges, mechanism analysis, as well as evaluating prototypes and competitive tools to help guide design decisions. The Senior Designer also mentors new designers, guides engineers on CAD best practices, and communicates effectively with the team to ensure manufacturability and design efficiency.
You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:
  • Highly capable of taking design requirements and creating 3D models and functional designs
  • Design components for processes such as die casting, plastic injection molding, powdered metal, MIM, sheet metal stamping and screw machine
  • Highly efficient in incorporating Industrial Design concepts into CAD models, including complex surfacing
  • Create drawings, product BOMs and change notices for release and/or change distribution
  • Support Engineers in analysis, research, and solutions for complex technical challenges
  • Actively participate in project team meetings and help to drive cross functional decisions
  • Evaluate and analyze prototype and competitive tools to help the engineers make informed decisions on design direction
  • Support tolerance stack-up analysis for assemblies of varying complexity
  • Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and able to apply to designs in a practical manner
  • Support the gathering and analysis of information and test data that will be used to help drive decisions pertaining to the design of assemblies and components
  • Ability to balance multiple complex projects and special assignments within typical workload
  • Proficient at communicating with team member regarding, part design, manufacturability, and requirements
  • Provide guidance on CAD to engineers and mentor new Designers
  • Builds and influences organizational CAD standards and best practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:
  • Requires a technical Associate Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, drafting and computer modeling and related technical assignments
  • Utilize mechanical design skills and ability to develop creative design solutions
  • Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:
  • Prior experience with the methods and materials used to manufacture tools
  • Strong mechanical design skills and ability to develop creative design solutions

Working conditions:
Office Environment
  • Primarily working in an indoor office environment
