Job Description

Technical Assembler Rotational Program

Must be an active HydraForce employee in good standing at the time of application.

The HydraForce Technical Assembler Rotational Program is designed to develop future leaders in manufacturing by providing hands-on experience across key areas of our operations. Participants will build a strong foundation in hydraulic manufacturing while gaining exposure to HydraForce processes, standards, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices.

Throughout the program, participants will rotate through nine key departments, working alongside experienced team members and a dedicated mentor who will provide guidance, support, and feedback throughout the program.

The rotational curriculum includes:

  • Support / Logistics - Learn material flow, inventory processes, and logistics operations.
  • Quality - Inspection - Develop skills in inspection methods, measurement, and quality standards.
  • Honing - Gain hands-on experience with honing processes and equipment.
  • Assembly - Build knowledge of hydraulic component assembly processes and standards.
  • Testing - Learn testing procedures and how to verify product performance and functionality.
  • Quality - Auditing - Understand quality audits, compliance, and process controls.
  • Quality - Warranty - Gain insight into warranty processes, root-cause analysis, and customer-focused quality.
  • Manufacturing Engineering - Learn how manufacturing processes are developed, optimized, and supported.
  • Lean Manufacturing - Apply Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.

Each rotation includes defined learning objectives, activities, and timeframes to ensure participants develop a broad understanding of hydraulic manufacturing and how the various functions work together.

This program provides a unique opportunity for individuals who are interested in manufacturing, hydraulics, leadership, and continuous improvement to develop the technical knowledge and cross-functional experience needed to grow their careers with HydraForce.

Qualifications

Must be an active HydraForce employee in good standing at the time of application

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, machining, electronics, or other hands-on technical experience
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand tools
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software/systems
  • Ability to perform measurements using tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, or gauges-or willingness to learn
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and following standardized processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate issues clearly
  • Ability to learn and adapt to different manufacturing processes and work environments

Rotational Program Specific Qualifications

  • Learning agility: Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new equipment, processes, and technical concepts
  • Adaptability: Comfortable moving between different departments, products, shifts, and manufacturing processes
  • Problem solving: Able to identify abnormalities, investigate potential causes, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Willingness to work with engineering, quality, maintenance, operations, and supply chain teams
  • Career interest: Demonstrated interest in developing a long-term career in manufacturing or technical operations
  • Accountability: Takes ownership of quality, safety, productivity, and personal development
  • Communication: Able to document work and communicate technical information clearly

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Ability to stand for 8-10 hours

Lift and move 15 - 35 pounds without assistance

Work with parts of various sizes and weights

Repetitive shoulder/arm/hand motion

Work Environment

Work time is spent in a warehouse environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high

Exposure to oil and water

Exposure to machinery

PPE required as determined by company safety standards: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety steel toe shoes

Additional Information

The rotational program has a set pay range of $18-22 per hour during the rotation period. Upon successful completion of the program, associates are eligible to transition into a permanent role with a higher pay range and increased overall earning potential, based on role placement and performance.
