Job description

The Techline Groundman is primarily responsible for performing manual tasks in the construction and maintenance of overhead power lines and other duties as necessary.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assembly of tools and materials on the ground.
  • Responsible for maintenance of Power Distribution Systems including but not limited to running, stringing, and hanging power lines either overhead and underground.
  • Assist other crew members with duties as needed including but not limited to filling pole holes and creating trench(es) using proper equipment.
  • Assist flagging traffic and setting up job sites as assigned.
  • Organize company tools and materials on work vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and safe company work area.
  • Responsible for the clean up and organization of job sites at completion of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL within three (3) months of employment
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test
  • Adhere to company safety and health policies – Techline will provide on-the-job safety training.
  • Legally authorized in the United States

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Able to work in a warehouse environment, which includes adapting to seasonal temperature changes and inclement weather.
  • Able to meet physical requirements such as but not limited to, standing, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, lifting and maneuvering up 50 lbs. or more without assistance, and more.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
