Petra Construction Corporation, a distinguished building construction firm established in 1953 and based in North Haven, CT, is seeking an experienced and motivated Information Technology (IT) Manager to administer and support our organization's technology environment.


The IT Manager is responsible for the administration, security, maintenance, and strategic support of the company’s technology infrastructure and business systems. This role manages corporate networks, servers, VMware virtual environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Exchange systems, cybersecurity controls, mobile/cell phone management, and end-user computing environments. The position provides senior-level technical leadership, ensures system reliability and security, supports operational efficiency, and delivers responsive technical support across the Petra organization.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with excellent problem-solving skills, project management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. High school diploma/GED required.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, on-premise VMware/ESXi virtualization, TCP/IP networking, on-premise Microsoft Exchange, DNS, DHCP, firewall, and enterprise backup systems.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices and corporate cell phone environments, including mobile device management (MDM) platforms and wireless carrier management.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cybersecurity principles, virtualization technologies, and enterprise hardware platforms.
  • Microsoft, VMware, or related industry certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and respond effectively during system outages or emergencies.

This is a full-time in-office position with occasional travel to CT project job sites as required. The position may require after-hours or weekend availability for system maintenance or emergency support.
