Job Description

Purpose:

The Communications Specialist II, under general supervision, writes news features highlighting the faculty, students and research for the Engineering News site. The Communications Specialist II will identify, research and support storytelling opportunities, including but not limited to print, multimedia, social, online and media relations. The Communications Specialist II will also assist the content strategy team with content review and creation as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Focuses on elevating the high-level, strategic news of Texas A&M Engineering.
  • Researches, interviews, and writes press releases and feature articles highlighting the faculty, staff and research for the Engineering News site.
  • Proactively manages tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborates with the multimedia, social media and design teams to develop and implement content packages to accompany stories.
  • Assists with content review and creation as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of related experience.

What is Helpful:

  • Master's degree in journalism, communications or science and technology journalism.

  • Main Campus - College Station, TX.
