About this Job
We're looking for an Auditor to join our Audit and Technical Section-a professional, progressive team working to attract and support the talent that drives our mission forward. The auditor plays a key role in auditing the gaming industry for compliance with statutes and gaming regulations to ensure the integrity of the Louisiana gaming industry. Our audit staff works closely with our technical staff, the Enforcement Section, and the Licensing Section to ensure the suitability and the integrity of all gaming operations and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting or auditing; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in one or a combination of the following: accounting, auditing, business, finance, management, economics, quantitative methods, or information systems; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
A bachelor's degree plus a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP) designation; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, management, economics, information systems, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
An Auditor's responsibilities include the following:
  • Performs audits of casinos to ascertain that all statues and regulatory requirements concerning casino revenue recognition, accounting and cash controls, and various other conditions are met.
  • Compiles work papers, which consist of the auditor's understanding of the licensee's internal controls to the details that document the audit process and the information obtained.
  • Interact with casino representatives and personnel to obtain necessary information to conduct audits and to inform and/or instruct these persons of Division policies.
  • Plan and schedule work in accordance with established priorities to maximize efficient use of resources.
  • Determines if licensees are in compliance with Administrative Rules and Regulations, the Louisiana Statutes and their accounting procedures and controls.
