Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Woodson YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility by providing excellent member experiences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.ย ย  ย Completes and reconciles bank deposits with the operation and financial systems, to ensure accurate records and good internal controls.
2.ย ย  ย Process accounts payable, which includes entering invoices, checking proper coding, printing checks, matching invoices to checks, preparing documents for mailing and maintaining all related files.
3.ย ย  ย Maintains the vendor database, including vendor and subcontractor insurance information and W9 forms, communicates directly with vendors and subcontractors as needed.
4.ย ย  ย Prepare 1099s and 1096s, providing them to recipients and state and federal government in accordance with established deadlines.
5.ย ย  ย Completes the review and audit of monthly credit card transactions.
6.ย ย  ย Processes payroll on a shared basis with HR staff.
7.ย ย  ย Enters journal entries bi-weekly from the payroll system to the finance system.
8.ย ย  ย Completes allocations and journal entries monthly.
9.ย ย  ย Assists with preparation of month end close.
10.ย ย  ย Prepare quarterly sales tax report.
11.ย ย  ย Assist with preparation of documentation for the annual audit.
12.ย ย  ย Runs reports and does analytical reporting as requested.
13.ย ย  ย Keeps track of allocated board designated funds through project completion.
14.ย ย  ย Assists in billing insurance reimbursements.
15.ย ย  ย Works with the VP of Finance and HR on budget preparation and collation.
16.ย ย  ย Coordinates and manages the onboarding of volunteers.ย 
17.ย ย  ย Acts as a back-up and support for other HR/Finance team membersโ€™ tasks.
18.ย ย  ย All other duties and projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.ย ย  ย Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
2.ย ย  ย 1-4 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting responsibilities.
3.ย ย  ย Proficiency with technology accounting systems, Microsoft Excel, and other related applications.
4.ย ย  ย Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
5.ย ย  ย Ability to multi-task, work efficiently, and meet deadlines.
6.ย ย  ย Be committed to providing efficient and reliable support to the HR/Finance department members, other departments, members, and vendors.ย
