A Plumber, or Plumbing Technician, is an individual who specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures and equipment for residential, commercial, or industrial establishments. Their main duties include installing water supply networks, installing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and drainage systems, and repairing plumbing equipment or piping.


Plumber duties and responsibilities
There are many elements in a Plumbing Technician's job that are required to be accomplished on a day-to-day basis. Here are some of the most common daily duties of any Plumber, regardless of the type of industry they most often work in:

  • Diagnose, Install, and repair plumbing fixtures, pipes, and water drainage systems
  • Test facilities for leaks
  • Ensure that local and provincial safety regulations are met
  • Replace any products or equipment that do not meet current safety regulations
  • Perform regular inspections of pipes and plumbing fixtures
  • Troubleshoot and find the cause of various plumbing/ equipment malfunctions
