Essential Job Function
  • Conduct investigations and walkthroughs and produce conceptual sketches and compile the planning requirements for each project to meet established deadlines.
  • Provide input to support and validate requests for new projects
  • Attend weekly meetings and provide weekly status reports of facility projects in the planning stages.
  • Schedule/attend meetings, and take meeting minutes
  • Support project close-out activities including review compilations and tracking of project documents and punch list items including scanning and filing hard copies of documents.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a Bachelors degree in professional engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical) (ABET)
  • 6 years of experience in facility engineering and /or facility operations
  • Knowledge and experience in assisting the preparing/assessing hardline drawings for required design intent documents (demolition/renovation plans, building systems plans, etc.); surveying space, equipment, workflow, communication, and organizational requirements: developing engineering and related requirements; reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of engineering, principles and techniques required to assist in developing requirements resulting in efficient building and site operations
  • Knowledge of workplace tools and solutions
  • Practical knowledge of the techniques of program analysis and data collecting in order to conduct surveys, studies and analyses and make recommendations related to the development, construction and/or renovation of building systems.
  • Skill in oral, written, and graphic communication to develop visual representations and present them in a persuasive fashion
  • Knowledge of project scheduling methods and cost estimating procedures, necessary to develop project time frames and budgets
  • Knowledge of capabilities and application of automated technology, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD), to develop and modify specification drawing and layouts and generate graphic presentations
