What is a team chiropractor?

A Team Chiropractor is a licensed healthcare professional who works with sports teams to diagnose, treat, and prevent musculoskeletal injuries, particularly those involving the spine and joints. They provide hands-on spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapies, and rehabilitation exercises to help athletes recover from injuries and improve their overall performance. Team Chiropractors also collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each athlete’s needs.

How does a team chiropractor typically collaborate with coaches and athletic trainers to support athletes?

A team chiropractor works closely with coaches and athletic trainers to develop comprehensive care plans that optimize athlete performance and recovery. Collaboration often involves regular communication about player injuries, progress, and tailored treatment approaches such as spinal adjustments or corrective exercises. The chiropractor may also provide on-site support during practices and games, ensuring athletes receive immediate care when needed. This multidisciplinary teamwork enhances injury prevention strategies and helps athletes return to peak condition efficiently.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a team chiropractor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Team Chiropractor, you need a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, state licensure, and expertise in musculoskeletal assessment and spinal manipulation. Familiarity with diagnostic imaging tools, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and relevant certifications in sports chiropractic are typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to communicate effectively with athletes and other healthcare professionals set outstanding chiropractors apart. These competencies are crucial for providing effective care, optimizing athletic performance, and ensuring seamless collaboration within sports medicine teams.

What type of team chiropractor makes the most money?

The highest-paid team chiropractors typically work with professional sports teams or high-profile athletes, where they often earn higher salaries and bonuses due to the demanding environment and specialized skills required. Experience, reputation, and additional certifications can also contribute to higher earnings in this role.

CHIROPRACTOR

Growth & Leadership Opportunity in Manhattan

NYC Comprehensive Chiropractic | Manhattan, New York | Full-Time

Comprehensive Chiropractic, a respected Manhattan chiropractic and wellness practice serving the community for more than 30 years, is seeking an exceptional Chiropractor interested in building a long-term career with the practice.
We are looking for more than someone to cover a schedule. We are seeking a motivated, patient-focused doctor who will build lasting patient relationships, maintain a consistent clinical presence, contribute to continued practice growth, and earn increasing responsibility over time.
This opportunity is well suited for either an experienced chiropractor or a newer doctor seeking mentorship, professional development, and the opportunity to grow within an established Manhattan practice.
The Opportunity
  • Established patient base and loyal following
  • Mentorship from experienced clinical leadership
  • Supportive clinical and administrative team
  • Opportunity to build and retain your own patient base
  • Professional, clinical, leadership, and practice-management development
  • Competitive base compensation with additional performance-based bonuses and incentives
  • Opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of the practice
  • Potential future partnership or ownership discussions for the right individual
Responsibilities
  • Perform chiropractic consultations and examinations
  • Develop individualized treatment recommendations and care plans
  • Deliver chiropractic adjustments and therapeutic care
  • Educate patients regarding their condition, treatment, wellness, and injury prevention
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with the clinical and administrative team
  • Build long-term patient relationships through excellent care and communication
  • Contribute to patient retention, referrals, and continued practice growth
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate:
  • Genuinely enjoys caring for patients and building long-term patient relationships
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and confidently
  • Is professional, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
  • Values consistency, accountability, and clinical excellence
  • Is motivated to build and maintain a successful patient base
  • Is interested in growing clinically, professionally, and financially
  • Has an interest in professional leadership and practice development
  • Is seeking a long-term career opportunity with the potential to assume increasing responsibility over time
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in New York State
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
Full-time availability is preferred; however, exceptional part-time candidates will also be considered.
Compensation & Growth
Base salary: $95,000–$145,000 annually for a full-time position, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and schedule.
Additional performance-based bonuses and incentive compensation are available and are separate from base salary.
For the right individual, sustained clinical performance, reliability, leadership, patient relationships, and contribution to the continued growth of the practice may lead to future discussions regarding expanded leadership responsibilities and potential partnership or ownership opportunities.
