Job description

St. Catherine of Siena Academy is an all-girls Catholic high school in Wixom, Michigan. Our mission is to transform the culture by inspiring young women to discover and develop their feminine geniusโ€”their unique identity and gifts as women created in the image of God.

Teachers at St. Catherine of Siena Academy are not only qualified but also passionate about their subject area(s). This role includes teaching introductory and advanced-level courses and contributing to a culture of intellectual curiosity, academic excellence, and personal growth. As a full-time member of our faculty, the teacher plays a key role in shaping the subject area curriculum and supporting the schoolโ€™s mission.

ESSIENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction consistent with the schoolโ€™s mission and curriculum standards.
  • Foster a classroom environment that supports academic growth, faith development, and mutual respect.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-sponsored events.
  • Support the schoolโ€™s Catholic identity and participate in liturgies, prayer services, and community celebrations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher in Education, or a related field / subject area
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements (CE)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching assigned subjects at the high school or college level
  • A minimum of 3+ years of relevant teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Committed to the mission of St. Catherine of Siena Academy and values of Catholic education
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
